What are the LAN settings of the instrument and GCViewer?

In order to establish communication between the cable and antenna analyzer and GCViewer the following configuration must be applied. (Note: []: represent hard-keys and {}:represent soft-keys).

  • Cable and Antenna Analyzer: Follow the sequence [System], {More}. Make sure GENCOMM is highlighted as the APP I/F and LAN is highlighted as the I/F Type.

  • PC: The instructions for LAN settings and GCViewer configuration are as follows:

    • LAN Settings: Configure the PC with the IP address: 192.168.128.X (except 128) and subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

    • Connect the LAN cross-over cable (provided with the insturment).

    • GCViewer: Open GCViewer and select {Settings}, {Communication}. Make sure GC72X is selected as the Instrument option and the TCP/IP is 192.168.128.128 (static IP address of the instrument). Select {Load}, {Connect}.

Can I use other calibrator kits (open, short, load) with the GC72xx?

Yes, the cable and antenna analyzers GC72xx can use other type of calibrators.

 

Which power sensors can be used with the GC72xx?

The power sensors that can interface with the cable and antenna analyzers GC72xx are the following:

  • GC724-50551: Terminating Average power sensor 40MHz to 3.0GHz.

  • GC724-50552: Terminating Peak power sensor 40MHz to 4.0GHz.

  • GC731A: Directional Power Sensor 150

  • GC732A: Terminating Average Power Sensor 20 to 3.8GHz.

  • GC733A: Terminating Power Sensor. Average Power 20 to 3.8GHz

What does Windowing do?

Windowing is a Nominal filter applied to the measurement which removes sharp transitions.

 

What is the calibration cycle of the GC72xx?

The recommended calibration cycle for the cable and antenna analyzers GC72xx is two years.
